A Message from the WASPA President:

Welcome to the Wisconsin Association of School Personnel Administrators (WASPA) website!  Our mission is to engage and develop educational leaders to ensure the success of all students by maximizing the effectiveness of human resources practices in Wisconsin schools.  As the only Wisconsin statewide professional human resource organization that serves both K-12 and higher education professionals, we provide opportunities to grow in understanding human resource issues and develop solutions through professional development, training, mentorship, resource sharing, network collaboration, and communication.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the 2024-25 Wisconsin Association of School Personnel Administrators President.  I am humbled to represent an organization that has supported me both professionally and personally in human resources.

The following are just a few benefit highlights of becoming a WASPA member:

  • Professional Network - One of our greatest assets I have benefited from is our powerful network where you too can form supportive relationships with a wide range of human resources expertise.

  • Wisconsin Education Career Access Network (WECAN) access - A unique benefit to WASPA members is employer access to the WECAN, which is a widely-known applicant tracking system for K-12 schools in the state of Wisconsin.   WASPA leaders developed WECAN, in partnership with UW-Madison, to provide the most cost effective and meaningful method to recruit teachers, administrators, and support staff to our districts.

  • WASPA Website Members Only Portal - The revised WASPA website offers sample documents and shared resources, access to the member directory, professional development opportunities available, recruitment fairs, and related business affiliations.

  • Advocacy - WASPA participates in the School Administrators Alliance (SAA) with four other statewide educational organizations, supporting legislation that improves the quality of education for Wisconsin students.

  • HR Updates - Members receive regular email updates and important notices to keep HR professionals informed of critical information.

  • Professional Development - Conferences for administrators and support staff are offered as an opportunity to network and engage in learning on a variety of topics, including hiring practices, strategic compensation, benefits, legal compliance, and employee engagement to name a few.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and Executive Director, I invite you to take advantage of the invaluable resource and networking WASPA offers! Please join us for one of our upcoming conferences where you can take in some relevant professional development and get to know other HR professionals working in education!

Sincerely,

Tabatha Gundrum
